All our 1, 3 and 5-year rates are our guarantee to you. We’re committed to giving you those rates, but you’re free to switch or cancel plans at any time. And remember, if you move to a new home in Alberta, our plans (and guaranteed prices) can move with you.

RRO is the Regulated Rate Option. (We pronounce it ‘Ruh-Ro’ like a certain mystery-solving cartoon dog.) It’s the default option for energy in Alberta.

All Albertans have the right to choose an energy retailer, so if you’ve never made that choice, you’re probably on the RRO. That means your rates will change each month, and you’ll get separate bills for electricity and natural gas.

What are anniversary credits?

An anniversary credit is a gift from us to you – and you’ll only find them at ATCOenergy. When you sign up for a 3 or 5-year plan, we’ll add a credit to your account every year on your ATCOversary. You’ll get a $25 credit for every electricity and/or natural gas site you have with us. 

Unlike your other anniversary, it’s okay if you don’t get us a card. We’re just happy we’re together.

What's a kWh?

Kittens Wearing Hats? Yes, that would be incredibly cute, but on your energy bill, it’s Kilowatt hour. It represents the amount of electricity you use – the number of kilowatt’s you consume in an hour. 

You can reduce your electricity bill by reducing the number of kilowatts you use. If you leave your TV on all day, or keep your small appliances plugged in, you’re adding to your kilowatt hours – and increasing your electricity bill.
